چکیده

Experimental test is one of the methods for predicting drag ships using towing tank. This method has a good level accuracy but requires quite complex equipment and costs. With advancing technology computing, CFD emerged as an alternative problem-solving, especially in hydrodynamics analysis. study aims to ensure Computational Fluid dynamics (CFD) by verifying experimental data on high-speed vessel interceptor. The Interceptor system generates hydrodynamic lift force intercepting flow water under hull. Comparison results numerical simulations will involve analysis drag, heave trim. Numerical were carried out ITTC recommendations testing standards. research uses grid independence mesh. overset mesh k-epsilon solve turbulence flow. Dynamic Body Interaction (DFBI) module employed resolve dynamic motion ship order assess hull movements based fluid forces moments. There can be two degrees freedom pitch directions. All are performed calm condition. Verification reviewing condition without interceptor with 100% stroke 60% used variations verification this study. indicate that been verified maximum error range 10.7%. Planing type fast characteristics. also shows use interceptors proven improve performance planing ship.

Mathematical modeling of longitudinal dynamic pressure distribution on planing hulls

In the present paper, a mathematical model is used in order to predict the longitudinal distribution of dynamic pressure on planing hulls. The present model is based on the empirical equations resulted from multitude of experiments that have been carried out over the years on planing boats. These empirical equations are able to predict a longitudinal section of the pressure distribution. The ob...

Using Integral Surfaces to Visualize Cfd Simulation Data Using Integral Surfaces to Visualize Cfd Simulation Data

SUMMARY Visualization of 3D, unsteady (4D) flow is very difficult due to both perceptual challenges and the large size of 4D vector field data. Here, we describe the use of integral surfaces for visualization of CFD simulation data. By " integral " surfaces we mean surfaces based on massless particles that are integrated according to the underlying flow. Traditionally, integral curves, e.g., st...

Verification Using Simulation

Verification and simulation have always been complementary, if not competing, approaches to system design. In this paper, we present a novel method for so-called metric transition systems that bridges the gap between verification and simulation, enabling system verification using a finite number of simulations. The existence of metrics on the system state and observation spaces, which is natura...

Hydrodynamics of Sieve Tray Distillation Column Using CFD Simulation

Sieve trays are widely used in the gas- liquid contactors such as distillation and absorption towers. In this article, a three-dimensional, two phase CFD model using Euler-Euler framework was developed to simulate a distillation tower with two sieve trays. Hydrodynamic simulation of air and water system in different rates of gas phase was carried out and velocity distribution parameters, clear ...
